    DIVANS EXPLAINED

    DEEP DIVAN vs. SHALLOW DIVAN

    A deep divan has a traditional base that reaches almost to the floor which can be enhanced to include functional under-bed storage options. A shallow divan is more modern in style, offering a bedstead appearance with longer stand-out legs that elevate the bed from the ground.

    WHAT IS A PLATFORM TOP DIVAN?

    A divan without springs built into the base, offering a solid top for a firmer feel. Height: 31cm.

    WHAT IS A SPRUNG EDGE DIVAN?

    This divan has open coil pocket springs built into the divan base for supreme softness. Height: 35cm.

    Storage Options Explained

    • EASYSTORE™

      Providing 20 litres of storage space, 2 EasyStore™ drawers double the capacity of four standard drawers, holding up to 60kg of storage. Internal dimensions: W131.5 x D67 x H25.5cm

    • HIDEAWAY™

      Reinforced & cleverly disguised behind upholstered valances or drapes, the Hideaway provides a wide spacious void within the divan base.

    • SUPERSTORAGE™

      Characterised by its easy-lift top, this storage makes full use of the entire underside of your bed, securely hinged to the divan base on hydraulic springs.

    All storage options are available in standard sizes only. All divans are available with different feet & upholstery options – there is no charge for feet upgrades but upholstery prices will vary depending on which fabric you choose.     MATTRESSES EXPLAINED

    WHAT DOES COMBI-TENSION MEAN?

    Ideal for sleeping partners who prefer different sleeping comforts, combi-tension allows you to cater your mattress with 2 different levels of firmness on either side. Choose from: Orthos collection - Firm & Extra Firm. Regal collection - Medium, Firmer & Extra Firm.

    Please note: The Luxury No Turn collection does not have tension options.

    WHAT ARE REACTIVE™ POCKET SPRINGS?

    An enhancement of your traditional pocket spring where each individual spring is located in its own fabric pocket for independent movement, Hypnos’ ReActive™ springs have more active turn coils in a single pocket, providing a greater sense of your sleeping movements for extra support without affecting your sleeping partner.

    WHAT BENEFIT DOES HAND-STITCHING HAVE?

    Differing rows of hand-stitching are added to the sides of each mattress, securing the outer pocket springs in place to provide further sleeping support & prevent the bed from sagging over time. The more rows of stitching; the more supportive.

     

    • WHAT IS A COMFORT LAYER?

      Mattresses from the Regal Collection are available with an optional luxury Alpaca wool comfort layer which sits on top of the mattress for a touch of extra warmth & sumptuous comfort (charges apply).

    • WHAT DOES NO TURN MEAN?

      Mattresses from the Luxury No Turn collection & those otherwise stated as no turn mattresses do not require complete flipping – only rotation end-to-end once a week during the first 3 months & then once a season.

    • WHAT IS SOLOTEX™?

      Solotex™ is a luxury eco-friendly fibre cushioning that adds a gentle & stretchy rebound texture to each mattresses interior, providing marshmallow-soft long-lasting comfort & durability.

    WHAT IS ZIP & LINK?

    A zip & link mattress provides the flexibility to split a King or Super King bed into 2 Singles. Each mattress is zipped together along their inside edge and the divan discreetly linked at both the head and the foot, creating a connection that is almost seamless so that you can sleep comfortably without feeling like you are sleeping on 2 separate mattresses. This option is an excellent choice for houses with ‘access issues’ such as narrow staircases & low ceilings that would make moving a large bed into the home difficult or impossible. Additionally, if you choose an Orthos or Regal Z&L mattress, combi-tension options are available. When split, the single Z&L mattresses display the following standard sizes: King – 75 x 200cm; Super King – 90 x 200cm.

    100% recyclable, every Hypnos mattress comes with a 10-year guarantee and all are suitable for both divans & bedsteads. The mattress ticking (the tightly woven material on the mattresses surface) is non-changeable.     HEADBOARDS EXPLAINED

    EURO SLIM

    Upholstered from floor-to-top, this headboard matches the exact width of your chosen deep divan base from Single to Super King, creating a neat finish that’s perfect for bedrooms with limited space.

    EURO WIDE

    This headboard style is exactly the same as the Euro-Slim but ever so slightly wider than your chosen divan base with an extra 7.5cm of width each side, subtly silhouetting your bed.

    EURO EXTRA WIDE

    Available only with the Caroline Headboard, this bespoke design features a headboard made up of 3 pieces: a centre panel of the same width as your chosen deep divan base & 2 attachable side panels at a width of 60cm each. Ideal for larger bedrooms looking for a striking bedroom statement.

     

    • SHALLOW

      As the name suggests, this headboard is only available with a shallow divan base. It will match the exact width of your chosen size of divan & creates a contemporary floating-like bedstead look.

    • STRUTTED

      On two struts, this headboard rises elegantly from the top of the mattress. Only the design height of your headboard is upholstered in your chosen fabric & it fits perfectly to the width of your deep divan.

    • WINGED

      A headboard that encases the divan and mattress ever so slightly with its elegantly protruding sides, creating a cosy & distinguished look and feel.

    Unless otherwise stated, the rear of each headboard will be upholstered in plain black fabric. If the rear of your headboard will be seen when positioned in your home, it may be possible to request rear upholstery in the same fabric.
