Alf Furniture: Made in Italy
Based in the picturesque countryside of Francenigo, Treviso, at the heart of Northern Italy, Alf furniture begins as high-quality timber veneer. To achieve the variation of colour throughout the collections, the veneer is stained and heat-sealed, highlighting the beauty of the woodgrain and unique character of each individual surface. It is then applied with multiple layers of translucent lacquer in a specialist process that Alf Italia have perfected with careful precision since the brand was founded in 1951:
- Firstly, the veneer is placed in an airtight chamber to prevent dust or impurities in the finish.
- Next, the lacquer is applied, followed by buffing to smoothen ripples.
- This process is repeated 5 more times to ensure the most resilient and crisp of finishes.
- Finally, with the base now set, the veneer is glazed with one last even layer of lacquer and dried under UV light.
The end result is the lacquered luxury of Alf Italia furniture you witness in-store. This ultra high-gloss finish is not only sleek and stylish but the layers of lacquer provide added protection against clouding and dulling over time.
