Pavilion Broadway Shortlisted for SoGlos GLA Independent Shop of the Year 2019

Pavilion Broadway is thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for a SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Award (GLA) for the second year running! Regarded as the awards of Gloucestershire, the GLAs celebrate the sensational businesses and individuals of the county, from shopping destinations and wedding suppliers to sporting venues and local heroes.

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for category No. 16: Independent Shop of the Year. With more than 10 years of self-built Cotswold heritage, Pavilion Broadway thrives on its family roots, establishing ourselves as a designer brand whose care and attention to detail stand apart from national, mainstream businesses where quality and customer service can often be forfeit. Our shortlist is a reflection of our values that we and our customers take so much pride in. It is in Pavilion Broadway’s story that our brand’s passion lies.

Established in 2008, Pavilion Broadway was just a thought some 11 years ago, formed in the mind of Director, Adrian, who saw potential for retail growth within his home village of Broadway. Together with his wife, Jane, and son, David, they founded Pavilion Broadway, matching Adrian’s high-end furniture sourcing expertise and Jane’s love for floristry with David’s knowledge and education in business. An area affluent with both locals and tourists, Pavilion Broadway was quickly finding its feet, opening two more shops in the Cotswold village and establishing an interior design service, whilst David set up the firm’s website from Japan. Increasing success spurred David and his wife, Emi, to relocate back to the UK and dedicate their interests to the business full time in 2012. Now Managing Director, David and his family took the decision to relocate two of Pavilion Broadway’s existing shops to a substantial new showroom in Ashchurch, Tewkesbury in July 2017.

Although we have enjoyed more than 10 years of heritage, it is in the last few years that Pavilion Broadway has seen the most growth. As well as our showroom space, the Pavilion team has increased substantially. What began as a team of 3 has now expanded to more than 15 employees, branching across all aspects of the business – sales, logistics and deliveries, marketing, interior design – and no longer all with the same last name! Our ever-expanding catalogue currently offers over 16,000 products from more than 25 designer furniture brands. This includes those that have been with Pavilion Broadway since the beginning and represent our Cotswold roots to those brands more recently added with a luxe contemporary appeal.

2019 is set to be another exciting year for Pavilion Broadway. Our flagship showroom in Ashchurch is set to expand from a 22,000 sq/ft space to a mighty 28,000 sq/ft, whilst Number 62 remains in Broadway, dedicated to artificial flowers, home accessories and selected furniture pieces within the setting of a traditional Cotswold townhouse. The Pavilion Broadway website has just undergone a revamp, offering the same spectacular service but with a fresh and sophisticated new look for our customers. The introduction of some of our favourite new brands is on the agenda; you can look forward to seeing the likes of Italian brand, Calligaris, sofas and chairs by Collins and Hayes and more online and in our showrooms this coming year. And not forgetting new collections and pieces from many of our existing brands including Richmond Interiors, Pacific Lifestyle and Pavilion Chic . Most recently, we have just launched a wholesale arm of the business under the trading name, Furniture Brands International (or FBI, for short). Furniture Brands International is currently the UK’s Official Distributor of Theodore Alexander Modern and Jonathan Charles Fine Furniture, two furniture brands that both our customers and we have come to adore over the years.

Although we are relatively new to the Ashchurch area, our presence has been popular with residents local and far, offering the beginnings of an exciting retail experience at the cusp of the Cotswolds. We value our neighbours and even call on local business, Orchard Press, for our print advertising requirements, enthusiastic about supporting other family-run businesses in the community. We adore our Cotswold heritage and are passionate about providing a retail and interior base from which our clients and customers from all corners of the nation can enjoy and explore.

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for a GLA award and to be making our mark on the local area. Please vote for us in category No.16 Independent Shop of the Year 2019 here .
