The spontaneity of the Trowbridge London White Wedge painting evokes a true enjoyment of life. The vivid explosion of colour is eye-catching and mesmerising. A celebratory picture, it is a wonderful depiction of London.
Portrait of an Artist
Ian Weatherhead is one of the leading British watercolourists. He was initially a pupil of the stained glass artist and watercolourist William Wilson who left a lasting impression on him. Ian worked as an architect until the late 1980's when he turned to painting full-time.
Architecture, humour and a quirky perspective are strong themes running through Ian's work, which often depict social and sporting events, alongside notable landmarks and features of land and seascapes.
