Globe bookends by Authentic Models are a pair of globe bookends on solid wood bases, one a terrestrial globe, the other celestial. The celestial globe pictures the stars signs as they stretch across the stars and the terrestrial globe is a copy of a 1541 Mercator globe.

French Finish
The solid wood bases have been French finished. The French finish involves at least five coats of varnish being applied, with sanding in between. The idea is to create a rich coat that, together with applications of subtle patinas and mixed waxes, results in an aged and lived-in look.
