The Jonathan Charles Coffee Table Oyster is handcrafted in walnut with elegant arches and twists to the legs. Its name comes from the beautiful wood parquetry along the outer edge of the surface, creating what Jonathan Charles describe as ‘oyster veneer’. The focal feature of this rectangular walnut coffee table is certainly the eglomise inset. Dating back to the Egyptian era, eglomise involves gilding clear glass with gold or silver leaf to create a mirror-like surface that is highly decorative.
