The Beauty of Chinoiserie
A small walnut scalloped tray, with decorative Regency Chinoiserie style, handpainted and finely detailed by Jonathan Charles. Chinoiserie is a decorative style from the 18th century, characterised by the use of Chinese motifs and techniques. The style held particular favour during the Rococo period and the court of Louis XV, with which its fanciful, ornate and idyllic imagery is commonly associated. These trays also include finely cast patinated brass handles. They are highly beautiful, and would make ideal breakfast or tea serving trays. Available in either red or black.
Jonathan Charles pride themselves on the entirely hand crafted nature of all of their accessories, ensuring the individuality and uniqueness of each piece. Walnut is a dark and rich wood, bringing a warm and luxurious feeling to a room. It is a hardwood with a straight grain and is available in a range of shades to suit all styles. The design on these trays has also been painted by hand with acute attention to detail.
The Jonathan Charles Hampton Collection is inspired by early 19th century Regency Chinoiserie with decorative painted and hand-finished details. An elegant collection of accessories and furniture, combine with the art deco designs of the Luxe collection to create a truly stylish interior.
