Originally established in London, Parker Knoll now design and manufacture their furniture from Nottinghamshire, their unique longstanding heritage and values remaining very much at the heart of the business. Frederick Parker established the foundations of Parker Knoll in 1869, his father having trained him in the art of carpentry and fine furniture design. The business thrived on great British craftsmanship and remains so until this day.
Following great success and high demand, Frederick’s family-run business expanded, uniting with Willi Knoll in the early 1930s and revolutionising modern comfort. Parker Knoll were chosen to furnish much of the new BBC headquarters broadcasting house at Portland Palace in 1932 which was also the location in which King Edward VIII announced his abdication from the British throne in 1936 whilst sitting in one of Parker Knoll’s very own chairs! Over 80 years later and Parker Knoll remain as one of the UK's most adored luxury sofa brands, the swinging 60s seeing the development of Parker Knoll’s innovative recliner chair that has evolved today into a stylish and comfortable interior statement for the modern home.
