Who is Matthew Williamson?

The World of Fashion Meets Interior Design

From a young age, Matthew Williamson has had a love for all things fashion and design. Manchester born, he relocated to London whilst studying for a degree in Fashion and Print Design after which he worked freelance before co-founding his own brand in 1996.

Electric Angels Debut

Little did Williamson know that his illustrious fashion career was about to take root. Shortly after co-establishing his company, Williamson showed his very first collection at the 1997 London Fashion Week. Electric Angels as it is called, made its mark on the fashion industry, showcasing Williamson’s skill for the art and eye for trends. Since then, the fashion designer has won a variety of prestigious awards and commendations, dipping his toe into the interior design and furniture pool.

Duresta for Matthew Williamson

The New Collection

As such an influential figure in the fashion and furniture industry, we are thrilled to announce that the Duresta for Matthew Williamson collection has arrived at Pavilion Broadway. This is a tremendous occasion for the luxury interior design industry, capturing the DNA of both brands in stylish, contemporary seating.

Interior Design

Matthew Williamson has always believed fashion and interior design go hand in hand. So, when Duresta proposed a collaboration, he jumped at the chance to turn his hand to an exclusive furniture project. Matthew Williamson has labelled his latest collaboration with Nottingham-based sofa manufacturer, Duresta, as a ‘passion project’, adding that he was drawn to working with Duresta because of the brand's values, British craftsmanship and quality. The designs comprise five upholstery ranges and unique occasional pieces - as listed below - inspired by his own collection of antiques and collectables which he has adapted and updated over the years. The final outcome sees Duresta’s signature pieces upholstered in Matthew Williamson’s vibrant prints and splashed with brilliant colours.
