The box is French finish distressed with bronze hinges. The French finish involves at least five coats of varnish being applied, with sanding in between. The idea is to create a rich coat that, together with applications of subtle patinas and mixed waxes, results in an aged and lived-in look. The bronze hinges ensure the box is durable and long-lasting.
